Humans Correct Their Judgments Through Debate, but Weaker AI Models Do Not
This challenges a foundational assumption in AI alignment: that debate works for supervision. Humans update their views when confronted with structured argument. Weaker LLM judges get manipulated or stuck in a wrong answer. This is directly relevant to anyone building debate-based oversight systems or relying on LLM judges for safety. You may need human-in-the-loop for this to work.
